Faith & Community

Catholic Social Teaching

Saint Francis Catholic High School, as part of the Niagara Catholic District School Board has as its mission to offer secondary school education with the values and teachings of Jesus Christ and the Traditions of the Catholic Faith.

  • We recognize the dignity of each person as a child of God and each person’s right to be respected as such.
  • We encourage learning by focusing on the development of each person’s talents and abilities in preparation for life’s expectations.
  • We strive to build a community where everyone reaches out in mutual support of and for each other.
  • We strive to show pride and respect to the property of the school and those of others.

Social Justice

Catholic social teaching is an essential aspect of Catholic education. Social justice and community service opportunities are provided to students inside and outside of the classroom. Catholic education is different and unique. We welcome and accept students of all faith traditions. Education in a Catholic school enriches the faith life of all students. Excellence is built on the philosophical foundation that students need to be challenged in order to reach their full potential.

Saint Francis Catholic School puts our faith into action by being involved in Social Justice Education and action projects. Through these activities we begin walking the talk.

Community wide and international outreach programs such as our Christmas and Easter Basket Project, Lent Campaign, and Pilgrimage are some of the ways our school takes part in Social Justice.
